Roasted Chicory Cubes

Roasted Chicory cubes come into existence as a result of intense heating of the Dried Chicory Cubes. Technically speaking, this is done mainly to oxidize or caramelize the sugar content found in the roots of the chicory plants. Alongside, this roasting process is duly effective in purifying the plant from the other bitter substances as well.

The process to obtain Roasted Chicory involves fine grading of the cubes to get pieces of uniform sizes. Heating the chicory cubes in a bulk iron cylinder or batch roasters at the desired temperature will carry out the roasting process. The intensity thus provided is fair enough to caramelize the sugar content contained in its roots, to get away with the impurities the bitterness they carry and to acquire the color as per the consumer’s demand.

To conclude the proceedings, the resulting cubes are finally kept to cool down on a specialized cooling tray after which they are sieved and packed.
